When in Prague (Part II)

Feliz martes!!! Seguro que ya pensaban que me había olvidado mostrarles la segunda parte de mi viaje a Praga! Pues no! Aquí va!!

Happy Tuesday!!! For sure you thought that I had forgotten about my second part of my trip to Prague, but no way!! Here I go!

Día 2 / Day 2

Comenzamos la mañana en la Torre de la Pólvora que es una de las 13 puertas originales de la ciudad de Praga del siglo XV y que nos conduce a la Ciudad Vieja, de hecho de ahí nos dirigimos a la Plaza principal.

We start visiting the Powder Tower which is one of the 13 original entrances of the old City of Prague in the XV century. This tower takes us to the heart of the city.

 

Una vez en la Plaza de la Ciudad Vieja aprovechamos para a subir a la torre del Reloj Astronómico y ver la ciudad desde las alturas!

Once in the Old Town Square we went up to the tower of the Astronomical Clock where we had some amazing views of the city!

Como hacía mucho calor y desde lo alto de la torre vimos una terraza que se veía súper bien, nos dimos un break y al salir subimos a ella y yo aproveché a tomarme una limonada, que tengo que confesar que como no me gusta la cerveza me volví fan de ellas ya que las hacían de todos los sabores! Y de paso ver la torre con perspectiva! 😉

Since it was really hot and we spot from the heights of the tower a super cool terrace we had a break and went there to grab some drinks and see the tower from another perspective. I have to confess that I became fan of the lemonades in Prague since they do them in all sort of flavors! 

Con las pilas recargadas y fresquitos seguimos el recorrido  y nos fuimos caminando hasta la famosa Casa Danzante, diseñado por el arquitecto checo-croata Vlado Milunić en colaboración con el arquitecto canadiense Frank Gehry frente al río Moldava.

With the batteries charge we continue our strolling around the famous Dancing house designed by the Czech-Croatian architech Vlado Milunic in collaboration with Frank Gehry in front of the Moldovan river.

Estando ahí nos dijo un homenaje y comimos en el restaurante Ginger& Fred, que de hecho también se conoce este edificio con este nombre.

Being the we decided to give our selves a foodie tribute in Ginger & Fred Restaurant that is inside this building and in fact it is also known by this name. 

Con el estómago lleno seguimos nuestro recorrido hacia Mala Strana, el barrio de los antiguos palacios, pero donde también encontramos cosas curiosas como el Puente de los candados y el muro de John Lennon, todo un símbolo de libertad de expresión durante los años 80.

With our belly full we went to Mala Strana, a town where the palaces used to be but also there we find the locks bridge and the famous John Lennon Wall which is a symbol of the freedom of speech during the 80’s.

Acabamos este recorrido regresando por el puente de Carlos, el puente más viejo de Praga y otras puerta de entrada a la ciudad.

We end this day walking through  the Charles bridge which is the oldest one in Prague and also another entrance of the old city.

Obviamente después de tanta caminata acabamos rendidos hicimos un último esfuerzo para ir a cenar a una taberna típica y Xavi se pidió este súper codillo que aunque no lo crean no quedó nada (claro que yo lo ayudé)!

Of course after all this walking we were super tired but we always have space for some food so we went to a typical tavern where Xavi ate a delicious Pork Knuckle that believe it or not nothing was left (of course I helped him)!

Día 3 / Day 3

Nos levantamos temprano para recorrer el «Josefov» que es el barrio judío y entrar algunas de sus sinagogas, la Española te deja con la boca abierta de lo bonita que es, y por supuesto su cementerio en el cual el número de tumbas de gente enterrada es incierto, porque hay varias capas de tumbas y es verdaderamente impresionante.

We woke up early to make the most of our last day and went to «Josefov», the jewish town to see some of their synagogues, La Española is a super must btw, and of course the cemetery.

En la tarde habíamos contratado otro tour con Sandemans para visitar al castillo pero antes hicimos una parada rápida para comer y como siempre disfrutamos de algún plato típico y mis delis limonadas.

In the afternoon we hired again Sandemans for a tour to the Castle so we grab a quick lunch and tried some typical food and more lemonades.

Recorrimos nuevamente el barrio de Mala Strana y su puente de Carlos para llegar al castillo y su famosa Catedral de San Vito.

We stroll again through the Mala Strana town and Charles bridge and then arrive to Prague Castle and its famous Sant Vito Cathedral. 

Terminamos el recorrido dentro del Castillo en el famoso Callejón de Oro o calle de los alquimistas ya que dicen que ahí se alojaron unos alquimistas. Yo me enamoré de esa pequeña y pintoresca calle y como verán no me pude resistir a hacerme fotos en casi todas sus casas! jeje!

We end the tour in the famous Golden Lane or alchemist street because the legend said that there some alchemist lived. I felt in love with this cute street and as you can see I made pictures in almost every door! haha!

Y aquí finalizamos el viaje a Praga, una ciudad maravillosa, de cuentos, limonadas y cervezas que sin duda vale la pena visitar!

And here we end my trip to Prague, a wonderful city, of fairy tales, lemonades and beer that is a super must!
