When in Prague (Part I)

Feliz martes!!! Hoy les traigo un post viajero con mi última aventura. Hace mucho tiempo que tenía ganas de ir a Praga, había escuchado tantas cosas de esta ciudad de cuentos que no veía el momento de estar ahí y comprobar con mis propios ojos todo lo que me habían contado, y tengo que decirles, que a pesar de la ola de calor que tuvimos, esta ciudad no me decepcionó! Praga, ciudad dorada, de las 100 torres, de magia y alquimia y como no, de la cerveza, pues por si no lo saben ahí en 1842 «La Pilsner» nació y revolucionó el mundo. Llegamos un jueves por la noche y nuestra primera parada fue una cenita en un restaurante muy típico de ahí y por supuesto con cerveza. Yo tengo que confesar que no soy muy fan de la cerveza (más bien no me gusta nada) así que para que no se diga probé una de miel y aunque no estaba mal no logró convencerme!

Happy Tuesday!! Today I bring you a travel post with one of my last adventures. From a while ago I wanted to visit Prague. I have heard so many things about this fairy tail city that I needed it to see it by myself and I have to tell you that it did not disappointed me! Prague, the golden city, the city of the 100 towers, magical, full of alchemists  and of course the city of the beer. If you did now knew, here, in 1842 «the Pilsner»beer was invented and revolutionized the world. We arrived late in a Thursday and our first stop was a typical Prague restaurant and of course, a beer. I have to confess that I’m not a beer lover, actually I do not like it at all but since I was there I had to try it and as sweet tooth that I am I chose a honey flavor!

Al día siguiente y luego de un súper desayuno nos dirigimos a la Plaza de la Ciudad Vieja y tomamos un tour con Sandemans, empresa de tours gratuitos y muy divertidos en dónde al final del tour das «la voluntad», ya en Dublín lo cogimos y nos gusto mucho pues en pocas horas te dan una visión general e histórica de la ciudad. Cuando finalizamos el tour aprovechamos a recorrer nuevamente, y con más calma, algunos de los lugares que nos habían explicado previamente. Decidimos volver a la calle más famosa del barrio judio y que sin duda actualmente recuerda a alguna calle de Paris.

The next day and after a super breakfast in our hotel we went to the Old Town Square and we took a tour with Sandemans, a company of free and fun tours in which at the end you give to the guide what you consider fair. We already took a tour of this company in Dublin an we really enjoy it. After the tour ended we went again to some of the places visited with the tour in order to see them more calmly. We started with one of the most famous streets of the jewish quarter that as you will see, now it looks like a street in Paris. 

Al acabar de recorrerla teníamos hambre y fuimos a parar a un cubano que al parecer es muy conocido ahí, La Bodeguita del Medio.

After strolling a while we were a little hungry so we stop in a cuban restaurant that seems pretty famous there, La Bodeguita del Medio. 

Con la barriga llena continuamos el recorrido hacía la Casa Municipal que tiene el famoso reloj astronómico en el que a las horas puntas algunas de sus figuras se mueven y no saben la cantidad de gente que se acumula a ver el espectáculo.

With our belly full we continued our tour to the Municipal House that has the famous Astronomic clock in which every hour its figure moves and all the people gathers there to see the «show».

Otro lugar muy famoso en Praga es la Plaza de Venceslao ya que ahí se han producido muchos sucesos históricos y es el escenario tradicional de manifestaciones… de hecho, de camino a ella pasamos por un mercado monísimo lleno de frutas y artesanías y terminamos casi al lado de nuestro hotel en unos bloques solidarios súper coloridos en una de las calles comerciales de Praga.

Another famous place in Prague is the Wenceslas Square where many historical events occurred and it is a traditional setting for demonstrations.. .in fact on the way to it we pass by a super cute market full of fruits and handmade things and we ended taking some pictures in some super colorful blocs that where right in front our hotel.

Por la tarde fuimos a un crucero por el río Moldava, y aunque aquí si hicimos un poco «el guiri», valió la pena poder ver esta majestuosa ciudad y su atardecer desde esa perspectiva.

On the afternoon we took a cruise through the Moldau river and  was a cool experience to see this majestic city and the sunset from the river. 

Y para culminar el primer día de turismo nada mejor que ver el famoso castillo de Praga iluminado!

And to finish the first day of tourism, nothing better than the night views of the Prague castle!
