Event of the Week: Versace

Feliz viernes! No hay duda que Barcelona no tiene nada que envidiar a otras ciudades, no sólo por su clima y belleza arquitectónica sino que cada vez más van abriendo tiendas de moda de renombre mundial, y es que en una ciudad tan cosmopolita y llena de encanto como esta no es de extrañar. De hecho, el jueves pasado tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la inauguración de la nueva boutique de Versace concebida por Donatella Versace en colaboración con el arquitecto inglés Jamie Fobert. Una tienda impresionante, localizada, como no, en Paseo de Gracia y en la cual nada más entrar te encontrabas con suelos de mosaicos inspirados en las iglesias bizantinas del siglo XI. Con una superficie de 720 m2 la boutique mezcla la opulencia y los valores arquitectónicos más tradicionales de Italia. Mosaicos de mármol, bronces y plexiglás crean un ambiente lujoso y contemporáneo en el que se presentan las colecciones prêt-à-porter de Versace junto con accesorios para mujer y hombre. Además, estrellas de bronce entre elementos de metal enfatizan ese ambiente de lujo supremo que define la boutique. Como era de esperar pasamos una noche espectacular rodeados de prendas fantásticas y con todos los detalles muy cuidados, como el catering que estuvo delicioso, la música a cargo de un DJ o el exquisito perfume con el que nos obsequiaron. Happy Friday!! No doubt that Barcelona has nothing to envy to other cities, not only for it’s weather (that for me is pretty important) or it’s architectural beauty but also because more and more we are having openings of many fashion international brands, which in such a cosmopolitan and enchanted city like this is no surprise. In fact, last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend to the opening party of the new Versace boutique. Conceived by Donatella Versace in collaboration with architect Jamie Fobert, this boutique located in Paseo de Gracia is a really spectacular place. Just as you entered the store you see an impressive mosaic floor inspired on the Byzantine churches of the XI century. A 720m2 space where the opulence and architectonic values of Italy are mixed. Marble mosaics, bronzes and Plexiglas create a luxury and contemporary environment in which we find Versace prêt- à-porter collection together with accessories for men and women. Also bronze stars among metal elements emphasize that supreme luxury that defines this boutique. As you can imagine we had an amazing night surrounded by wonderful pieces and every detail was taken care, like the delicious catering, the cool DJ or the exquisite perfume that they gave us.
