Vichy or grid?

Feliz martes!!! Me imagino que ya muchos estarán de vacaciones y disfrutando a tope!! Que envidia pues yo de momento soy de las pocas que sigo en la office!! jejeje. Hoy les traigo unos estampados perfectos para el verano. Uno de ellos se puso de moda a finales de los 50 cuando una jovencísima y desde ya atrevida Brigitte Bardot decidió lucir para su boda un vestido de cuadros vichy en rosa. Antes de eso generalmente esta tela era utilizada para manteles ( y sin duda en rojo y blanco nos recuerdan a los del picnic no?). El nombre Vichy, que seguramente  nos suena al balneario francés, surge precisamente de esta ciudad francesa en donde a parte de balnearios también se fabrican delantales y faldas con este estampado. El segundo estampado ha surgido con fuerza esta temporada y es que las prendas con cuadrículas en blanco y negro le han hecho una dura competencia al estampado vichy de toda la vida. Hoy les traigo algunos looks inspiracionales con estos estampados, uno de lo más fránces y el otro más bien de lo más moderno, ambos apostando fuertemente por el blanco y negro. A ver con cuál se quedan!

Happy Tuesday!! I imagine that many of you are already on holidays!!! I still working so it is not much fun for me yet!! hahaha. Today’s post is about two prints that are perfect for summer. One of them started to be popular in the late 50´s when a young and daring Brigitte Bardot decided to wear for her wedding a pink and white vichy dress. Before that this sort of print was used more for tableclothes (and for sure in red and white it reminds you to the picnic tablecloth right?). The name, Vichy, probably sounds familiar to you for the famous spas located in that zone where, I have to say that besides spas they also make a lot of aprons and skirts of this print. The second print I want to talk today is the grid. It has become a hard competitor for the vichy print, specially the black and white combo. Today’s inspirationals looks are with  a classic french print and with a more modern one. Let’s see which one you chose!

Pero esta temporada, la cuadrícula se ha hecho un espacio en los armarios de las más fashionistas, y desde mi punta de vista me parece más elegante y sofisticado. La opción combinada con piezas en blanco y negro es la más vista, incluídas los looks totales de este estampado.

But this season the grid has conquer the fashionitas closets and I have to say that I find it more elegant and chic. The combinations of this print with black and white garments is the more common, but also total looks in it are a great option.

Pero ya sabemos que los estampados en blanco y negro combinados con colores también suelen quedar bastante bien y darle un toque más divertido al look.

Black and white looks are perfect paired with other colors and it give to the look a more fun touch.

Y como siempre, para las que les gusta mezclar y no tienen miedo a nada, estas dos opciones serán su elección!
