Images of the week: Gala’s gems for Birchbox

Feliz viernes y feliz festivo para casi todos!!! Que ganitas tenía que llegará este día!! Hoy publico un poco más temprano de lo habitual ya que en pocos minutos cogeré mi maleta y me iré unos días a desconectar, pero antes de irme quiero hablarles de la experiencia que viví la semana pasada gracias a Birchbox y Gala Gonzalez.

Happy Friday and happy holiday!! You have no idea how much I wanted this holiday!! Actually today’s I’m posting earlier than usual because in a few moments I’ll be leaving and disconnecting a little for a couple of days but before I wanted to talk to you about the experience I had last week with Birchbox and Gala Gonzalez.

El jueves pasado fue la presentación en Barcelona de la colección de esmaltes Galas’s Gems que la bloguera Gala Gonzalez (Amlul) ha creado para Birchbox. Para los que no han oído sobre esta marca tengo que decir que tuve la oportunidad de conocer  y conversar con una de sus fundadoras, Haley Barna,  y la verdad me quedé fascinada. Es una marca creada en Nueva York por unas amigas jóvenes y emprendedoras que un día decidieron dejar sus trabajos y apostar por algo que les gustara, es así como surgió la idea de hacer cajas con muestras de productos de cosmética. A mí la idea me parece genial pues muchas veces compramos productos porque alguién nos lo ha recomendado y puede que no tengan el mismo efecto que en esa persona, es por eso que considero que pagar una cifra no muy alta para que me envíen a casa productos de belleza en tamaños muestra y luego si te gustan incluso poder comprarlos en la misma web me parece ideal. En todo caso, y volviendo al jueves pasado,  tengo que decirles que fue una tarde genial en donde ni bien llegar te hacian pasar a un «photocall» donde habían 4 cuadrados con los colores de los esmaltes de la colección y tu podías escoger el que más te gustaba y hacerte una foto con una polaroid. También habían manicuristas para que probaras la nueva colección insitu.

Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend to the launching in Barcelona of Gala’s Gems collection of  blogger Gala Gonzalez  (Amlul) for Birchbox. For the ones that don’t know this brand I must say that I had the chance to talk with one of the founders, Haley Barna, and I have to say that I was amaze with the whole concept. A few years ago three young and entrepreneur friends decided to quit their jobs and follow and idea that they believe in, that is how they realized how women are so passionate with beauty and decided to sell samples of beauty products in small boxes. For me this is a brilliant idea since women always want to test everything before we use anything and sometimes we are forced to buy a product that maybe then won’t fit our requirements, therefore they have give us the possibility to try something and if we like it we can even buy it through their web. Anyway, and getting back to last week event, I really had a great time!! Just as you arrived they had a photocall prepared with squares with the four colors of Gala’s Gems collection and you had to chose the one that you liked the most in order to have your polaroid pic. Also you had an army of nail artists to try the nail polishes.

 

Sin duda la gran protagonista del evento era Gala, así que ella misma nos explico un poco más acerca de esta colección un tanto nostalgíca e inspirada en esos recuerdos que ella tenía de los esmaltes nacarados de su abuela y que en ese entonces le parecían «espantosos», sin embargo se ha basado en ese recuerdo para hacer una coleción bonita en donde la textura ha sido lo primordial ya que con una capa consigues un acabado perfecto. Los 4 colores de esta colección son: Aquamarine Azulino, Breakfast at, Gold struck y Heirloom pearls, de hecho este último es su color favorito de acuerdo a lo que nos contó.

No doubt that the star of the evening was Gala therefore she explained to us a little bit more about this collection that she considered nostalgic and inspired in those memories of her grandma’s pearl nail polish and which at that moment she considered that they were pretty ugly but now she has used those memories to make a beautiful collection where the texture has been one of the main concerns and that is why by applying one coat you have a perfect finish. The four colors of the collections are: Aquamarine Azulino, Breakfast at, Gold struck and Heirloom pearls, this last one her favorite as she recognized during the presentation.

Por cierto, obviamente en las cajas de Abril de Birchbox tendrán la oportunidad de probar uno de los esmaltes de Gala, además de varios de sus productos favoritos como la paleta para mejillas y labios de How’Bout Them Apples? de la firma theBalm, la Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant de Elizabeth Arden o el aceite de argán y polvo de diamante Mystique Diamond de Eva Cosmetics.

By the way, obvioulsy this month Birchbox box will count with one nail polish of Gala’s collection as well as some of her favorite beauty products such as the multi-functioning lip and cheek cream palette How’Bout Them Apples? from theBalm, Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant of Elizabeth Arden or the argan oil and diamond powder Mystique Diamond of Eva Cosmetics.

Antes que me olvide quiero contarles que me sorprendió gratamente Gala, es una chica súper dulce, simpática y preciosa, fue un placer conocerla!! Y gracias Birchbox por esa increíble tarde!

Before I forgot, I would like to tell you that Gala surprise me in a great way, she is a really sweet, nice and amazing, it was a real pleasure to meet her!! And thanks Birchbox for that amazing evening!!
